PA 6 - CT 1

Period one started out as a feeling out process. The Center-Pedes, still recovering from last months NY pounding, needed to take care of their own end first. The Wolfpack, gaining confidence after crucial win against NY (Dec) and NH (Jan), were on the upswing. Karen Smith (Ct's usual net minder) was replaced by Michael Messier because of an injury. Very few shots were registered for either club until the end of period one. Danny McDevitt put one in the open side of the cage, starting with a selfless pass across from Jeremy Lubin. Mr. Lubin was eventually rewarded (at the 14:59 mark) with a net minder giveback after his pass and eventual first shot. CT had several chances throughout the game with Tim Jones attacking  PA's net, or him passing in the attacking zone to one of his accomplished lady and/or gentlemen Wolves.Justin Wess (one of PA's top net minders), skating out, put his first biscuit in the basket, followed by a second offering from McDevitt; both at the 9-minute mark. Mr. Jones finally clicked on a sweet breakout and ensuing goal to put some "chow" back into CT's bowl by getting the Bugs to chase their tails in the defensive end. CT continued working together well, but PA had control of the puck more of the time. Period three brought McDevitt a "hat-trick" and Lubin his second tally. In the end the Bugs had too much speed and passing for CT to control the game. The Wolfpack shows a lot of promise because of their strict team play and individual efforts by Jones, Kuntz, Pelleiter, Bublione, Konvent and all the others. They will be hoping to see Karen back to defend their crease.
