March 4, 2007: The final weekend of the Prudential Northeast Sled
Hockey League started with a battle for 4th place between New
Hampshire and Connecticut who were tied going into the 1st
game of the day. New Hampshire pushed hard in the 1st period
, but they were unable to capitalize on two first period penalties on
Connecticut as goalie Karen Smith made several excellent saves.
Connecticut also had several scoring opportunities in the first period
but they were stymied by excellent goal tending at the New Hampshire
end. End of 1st score CT 0 – NH 0 The 2nd period saw Anthony Kuntz score the first Connecticut goal following some exceptional passing with Tyler Konvent and Ryan Pelletier getting assists. Anthony continued his hot day on the ice with a second goal in the period again with some great passing, this time with assists from Tim Jones and Ryan Pelletier. End of 2nd score CT 2 – NH 0 The third period saw a lot of action but excellent goal tending at both ends of the ice prevented any additional scoring in this game. With the Connecticut victory they were able to claim 4th place honors in the final standings at the end of the regular season. Final score Connecticut 2 – New Hampshire 0
