The Maine Pirates and the PA Center-Pedes squared off in a battle royal. The Pirates had enough players for two lines and the Center-Pedes three. It was the second of four meetings between the two clubs. The battle was between the purely adult contingent (ME) against youthful exuberance (PA).
Both teams had some chances with PA out shooting ME 27 to 17 for the entire game. Laura Schwanger for the Bugs and Jeff Labbe for the Pirates; neither could be Hornswaggled in the net minder position.
The score remained "Cackle Fruit" (chicken eggs) for forty minutes. A defensive breakdown by Doyle with just over five minutes to go allowed a St Germaine Picaroon with Sousa as the Powder Monkey.

The Bugs continued the fight and pulled the goalie with two minutes to go. Peter Grosso took the rest of the wind out of the Bugs sails with an empty net Athwartship shot from the defensive end.

That took the wind out of the bugs sails.
