Two of the founding principles of the Prudential Northeast Sled Hockey League are that it is essential that the league keep costs down AND the that the league schedule minimize the amount of time any of the league's players and administrators have to spend away from our families. This recognizes the great diversity of the league member's ages, financial status, and availability to participate in sled hockey. Maintaining these principles is critical to the long term success of the league.

Our 2005/2006 Game Day schedule accomplished these goals and the proposed 2006/2007 schedule does too. Games Days must always be a one day investment and the tournaments must require only one overnight, even for the teams traveling the farthest distances (although any team may wish to make a longer trip at their discretion.) To accomplish this, our league can only accommodate 5 teams and even then, some teams have to play back-to-back games and 3 games a day in tournaments. This is not designed to place any teams at a disadvantage however it is necessary to meet our overall objective. It is the hope of the league Governors that we all continue to place the league's best interests before those of our individual teams.

Our 2006/2007 PNESHL schedule will feature 40 PNESHL league games with each team playing in 16 league games. A PNESHL tournament will be scheduled in Northern New Jersey, close to the NJ office of the league sponsor, Prudential Financial, to kick off the season, and the Prudential Lobster Pot will be held in Portland, Maine, near another Prudential office, to end the season. All of the games will count towards the Prudential "Dryden Cup" Championship. This is an incredible step forward for the league.
